Digital Stories - Language Arts and Technology in Science
Below is my very first digital book - ever! It did take me about 3 hours to write the story, plan and create the book. I found the platform to be very intuitive to use and all but one graphic was provided within the program. I would definitely recommend using StoryJumper, especially for first time users or elementary/middle school students. I would suggest a week to plan, build, and edit book; in addition to research and writing time for topic.
Below is a lesson plan for high school general biology students to use StoryJumper to publish a Children's Book on Geochemical Cycles. It addresses Idaho Science Content Standards (2012) (http://www.sde.idaho.gov/site/content_standards/science_standards.htm) and Idaho Common Core State Standards (CCSS) Reading for Literacy Science and Technical Subjects (2013) (http://www.sde.idaho.gov/site/common/ELAcore/ccss.htm) and Idaho Information and Communication Technology
Standards (2013) (http://www.sde.idaho.gov/site/content_standards/infoCommTechStandards.htm)
